Guardians of the Wall Playtest Tools

Hardware checks and Steam access, without fake calculators.

Tools Hub

This hub holds the practical pages that are not guides and not lore. Guardians of the Wall is an upcoming Unreal Engine 5 co-op action RPG on Windows Steam. Before you argue about shotgun tiers, you need to know whether your PC can run DirectX 12 at a playable frame rate, and whether you actually requested the playtest. Those two jobs live here.

If you want the long form of the playtest story, that is a guide: How to Join the Playtest. This hub is the short, repeatable checklist.

Why these tools exist

Pre-release players search for two things that look like tools: a spec checker and a key. We will not ship a fake FPS estimator that pretends to know Unreal Engine 5 scalability on your exact laptop. We will not ship a “code redeemer” for a game that has no public code channel. We will put Steam’s numbers on a page you can read on your phone while you crawl under the desk to read a PSU label.

Boiling Bits listed a 25 GB install, 12 GB of RAM at minimum, and a GTX 1060 3 GB-class GPU. Those numbers are already a filter. If you are under them, the combat page will feel like a lie because the dash animation is hitching. Check hardware first.

How to use the hub in five minutes

  1. Open system requirements and compare CPU, RAM, GPU, and OS.
  2. If you are near the minimum, plan to drop effects before you drop resolution. Dark-fantasy fog plus blood particles is expensive.
  3. Open Steam wishlist and access and actually press the buttons. Wishlist is not Request Access. Request Access is not a launch key.
  4. If Steam grants the playtest, return to Getting Started and pick a job on the Guardian roster.
  5. If Steam does not grant it, stay wishlisted and watch the updates hub. Waves happen.

What we will not add

No damage calculator. There are no published damage numbers.
No map seed tool. Procedural encounters are named, not exposed as a seed field.
No controller overlay PNG that we guessed. Partial controller support is listed; the map is not.
No “best settings” copied from a different UE5 game. When playtest players post a settings screenshot, we can transcribe it with credit to the store news, not to a random overlay.

The honest tool for this moment in the game’s life is a door: can you run it, and can you get in. Everything else is a guide. Use the guides hub after you pass both checks, and the links hub if the Steam button is missing and you need the URL again.

If your PC is far above recommended — Windows 11, Ryzen 5 5600 or i5-11500, 16 GB, GTX 2080 8 GB — you still need the access page. Hardware does not request the playtest for you. Click the button, then go play.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Is there a code redemption tool?

No. Guardians of the Wall has no public promo-code channel on Steam. Access is the playtest Request Access button.

Can I run the game on a laptop GPU?

Maybe, if it matches the GTX 1060 3 GB-class minimum. Read system requirements rather than guessing from a brand name.

Does wishlist equal playtest access?

No. Wishlist pings you about launch. Request Access is a separate Steam control. Both are on Steam wishlist and access.

Will you add a build calculator?

Not until skill nodes and numbers are public. Use hero builds for a verb-based plan instead.
